I Knew it Was Love

Did love creep up on you slowly? Or hit your like a meteor? In either case, there was that special moment when you knew.

"I knew it was love when ...

— She offered to throw some of my clothes in the laundry with hers."

— I shaved my legs twice in one day."

— She wore a warm-up suit on our first date."

— Instead of a dozen roses, he sent me a box of 12 of my favorite pens on Valentine's Day. I'm a writer."

— She stopped talking about her ex-husband."

— He put a child seat on the back of his bike for my son."

— He held my hand in front of his mother."

— I saw she didn't wear eye makeup."

— My girfriends dragged me out of the library into a smoky, noisy bar, and somehow through the mist of people I spotted him. It was like my homing device finally activated."

— For the first time in my life I asked a second time for a dance after being turned down the first time — and she accepted."

— I saw how bad he looks when he sleeps and I didn't care."

— He asked me if I had to go to the bathroom before we started out on a long car ride."

— I had oral surgery the same day I had terrible cramps, and he put me to bed with a hot water bottle and fed me cream cheese on a butter knife and a chocolate milkshake through a straw."

— He said he never saw Kim Kardashian's sex tape."

— He babysat my son and changed his diapers."

— He drove over to the hotel I was staying at at 2 a.m. to be with me, even though he had to get up at 6 a.m. and go to work. Maybe it was just lust."

— I wasn't afraid to sing out loud in front of her."

— He suggested we use my car for our date, and then he filled up the gas tank on the way home."

— She said she'd get rid of the cat."

— I decided to throw away the letters from my high school sweetheart."

— On our second date we were at his apartment, it was 3 a.m. and he didn't say he was too tired to drive me home."

— I wanted to stay in bed with her until noon Sunday instead of going running."

— She admitted she watched all the 'Housewives.' She's such an egghead; I find it endearing."
