He may be back! All weekend rumors are swirling that Steve Burton (Jason of "General Hospital" and Dylan of "The Young and the Restless" is headed to "Days of Our Lives." Burton was let go because he did not get the COVID vaccine. Not a good idea. At the time, shots were mandated. I hope bygones can bygones. First, he is a great actor. He has won several Daytime Emmys for his work. Secondly, he has a large fan base. "Days," which is on fire, needs a ratings boost.

It appears Burton's character will be introduced in "Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem," a show slated to run July 21-25 on Peacock, and then head over to "Days." Cost might be a factor, but with several key characters (Abby, Philip) off the payroll, the show has the bucks. No word on who he would play. Two guesses: Perhaps Victor has another nephew. That would crush Xander, who just lost two loves of his life. Gwen, because she is a murderess wench, and Sarah, who thinks she is 7 years old. Or a character related to no one. Whoever it is, I hope the rumor is true and not merely internet nonsense, which happens a lot. We rarely report that stuff, but this rumor might be true. Fingers crossed.

John Aniston (Victor of "Days of Our Lives") is receiving the Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award. Oh, what a life it has been. For 60 years, he has graced daytime and primetime TV. He has said that it is not his acting; it is the writing. Over the years, he feels "Days" scripters have done it all. He is big on the writing, but it is the actor who makes the choices.

I first interviewed Aniston when he was Eddie, a semi-suave con man on "Search for Tomorrow." The 88-year-old actor wanted to be a doctor when he was young. In fact, he needed a doctor when he was hit by the acting bug. He met his current wife Sherry Rooney when she was on "Search." His first wife, Nancy Dow, was Jennifer Aniston's mother. While always close to her dad, she had some issues with her mother. Dow would chastise her about being overweight. The schism went on for years. The two reconciled before her mother died. On the day I was talking with her dad, he was concerned about his daughter. She told him she wanted to be an actress. He told her that's not a good idea, as most actresses do not get work. All for father knows best.

The Daytime Emmys are set to air June 24 on CBS.

Speaking of awards, Drew Carey, host of "The Price Is Right," was given an award at the National Association of Broadcasters Awards. The NAB awards is where TV folks see what is available for syndication. Ever gracious, he told the crowd he gets to the studio 20 minutes before showtime; he get to pass out gifts and money; and he never knows the answer. This is how gracious he is. His comedy show was as the height of popularity. Since the show was situated in Cleveland, his hometown, he came for a visit. He said he would like a hamburger. A producer jumped up and said he'd get it for him. Shaking his head, Carey said, if "I cannot get my own burger, I am doing something wrong." What he gets right is being a host. It has been a decade. He has no plans to go anywhere. He said "The Price Is Right" could be around for 100 years.

Folks, remember, once you post things on social media, deleting doesn't make the info disappear. As my grandfather said, once you say something, it is like a pillow; once you cut it open ,you cannot get all the filling back in. Pretty much everyone knew that Marci Miller (Abby) was exiting "Days." No one would deny or confirm. Then, a Twitter poster asked about her leaving. Thaoo Penghlis (Andre/Tony) answered in the affirmative but did not say how she leaves. The post was then deleted. Too late.
