America's favorite talk show couple are breaking up: Kelly and Ryan. Seacrest decided to exit. He claims flying back and forth from Los Angeles to New York City was becoming difficult. Seacrest hosts "American Idol"; he was the first host. At the time, another co-host quit. He felt the show had nowhere to go. Sad to say, Brian Dunkleman went nowhere. Kelly's first co-host was Regis Philbin. He wanted Susan Lucci for the job. Ever affable, Philbin made it work. With Regis, what you saw was what you got. Walking down the streets of New York, he glad-handed everybody, and would stop to talk. He co-owned a restaurant with Robert De Niro— only Regis could and did call him Bobby. As for Ripam she was furious when no one informed her that her co-host at the time, Michael Strahan, was leaving her show and headed to "Good Morning America." She was so angry she called off sick for two days. When Seacrest exits later this year, her real life hubby Mark Consuelos will sit in the chair next to him.
I am riveted by the Alex Murdaugh trial. He is charged with killing his son Paul and wife Maggie. His life is a Greek tragedy. All soaps are based on those tragedies. As for Murdaugh, he and his family were considered the most powerful family in their South Carolina town. Things started to fall apart when he became addicted to opioids. He needed gobs of money. He did not have it. Over the years, he swindled partners, family members and the poor guy on the street. Before this came out, everyone said he was caring, helpful and kind. He claims he is innocent. I hope he is. His son Buster took the stand and painted a wonderful parent. All the members of the family would call each other every day, all the time. Buster is a mini-me of dad with blazing red hair. On the stand he was amazing — focused. open about his belief his dad is innocent. He did break down once when seeing the bloodied body of the mother and brother. He did admit they fought about Paul not interested in gun safety.
Thank you "The Young and the Restless" for not dragging out Sally's pregnant "who is the baby daddy?" plot. They made it Adam. Yeah. On the not so great side, no one but Nina thought her son Chance was alive. He survived the cave in Spain because his mother did not give up on him. No one has mentioned that. It looks as if Nina is returning. Everybody should go on bended knee and thank him.
