Soulful Solstice

All experiences have an arc. The day rides on the cusp of a new season. The Sagittarius solar journey will be an exit through the gift shop in which you choose a souvenir to remember your adventure. A small reminder will serve as a touchstone later. Then, out through the doors, a whole new world awaits, as does the sense that you can create it as you go.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You may be feeling slightly out of step, but your version of a solo dance will put you back in touch with the rhythms of the universe. Once your groove is restored, it will all click together.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). As you become adept at recognizing opportunities and understanding the implications of your choices, you step into a role of leadership and influence. Your strategic approach sets you apart. Hidden possibilities lead to innovation and success.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Choose your company so carefully; it matters. When you stick near supportive people who contribute to your intellectual, emotional and spiritual development you will find you can do so much more than you thought you could.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Your plan doesn't have to be good to make a difference. That it exists at all will be the main reason for your success. You'll carry yourself with purpose and intention.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your feelings have a mysterious power. Can they be felt by another? Must you demonstrate what you are feeling for it to be conveyed? Maybe not. All that's happening on a subconscious level will be conveyed without your active participation.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your home supports and reflects you. You'll put effort into making your closest relationships harmonious and your domestic life beautiful. Domestic ease is the foundation from which other ventures will spring.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Build your hopes around the many things that matter to you, not just the thing you desperately want. "Wanting desperately" works for some cosmic climates, but not the present one.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Applying your efforts completely and faithfully will bring success. The tricky part is in choosing the right venture — one that will magnetize you so you don't have to put in effort to tend to it, because it's a no-brainer.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). An ambitious mood has you overestimating what you can accomplish. You'll certainly hit your marks, perhaps not in the timing you projected, so it's best to add some elasticity to the plan.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Ask for what you want. Make sure nothing else is competing for your attention and then ask with a clear, strong voice. Ask with your eyes and with your whole body and being. You'll get confirmation that your request was heard.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). The words of contrition you deserve may or may not come in and audible form from the source of injury or offence, but it will come from somewhere, the tender apology that bring a situation back into balance.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Your strong feelings are an asset, whatever tone they may be. It's not always appropriate to act on them, but neither should you try and stop them. Think in terms of channeling the energy, for instance into work, sports or creative expression.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Dec. 21). You simplify and strengthen your routines. Your priorities have never been better. It's been a long time coming and you'll finally achieve a comfortable rhythm and balance of life. More highlights: mind-expending entertainments, financial wins that help your family as much as they do you and moving into the future in an impressive way. Scorpio and Virgo adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 3, 33, 22, 11 and 44.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Kiefer Sutherland will join the Clint Eastwood-directed thriller "Juror No. 2." Born into show business, with over 100 credits to his name, Sutherland embodies the ambition and work ethic of his natal Venus in Capricorn. The second-generation movie star has natal sun and Mercury in independent, worldly Sagittarius indicating a passionate love of adventure, some of which is gleaming in the eyes of his portrayals.
