Feeling Moon

The Leo moon (which uses the heart as eyes) suggests that for today we'll be judged by the way our work makes others feel. Looks, age, fitness level, political bent, taste level and any other whimsy you can think of that doesn't have to do with the feeling that comes from what you produce will be relegated to the category of "beside the point."

ARIES (March 21-April 19). What you now think of as a very difficult task, you once thought of as impossible. With that in mind, consider tackling it once more. You'll likely knock it down to the status of mere inconvenience.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Once you realize what is getting in your way, you will have no problem letting go of it. Getting to that realization is something else — a process that will take awareness and willingness to see yourself differently over time.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). When are you going to make it about you and you alone? You're going to have to get a little more selfish (without feeling bad about it) if you're to meet your goals!

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Seeking knowledge and insight, you'll gain more than you bargained for. This is what it takes to understand what's going on with the others. When you tune your ears into what's not being said, you'll get the whole truth.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You'll need extra reserves of patience, especially where people of other generations are concerned. If you can stay a bit detached it will be easier. Everyone is doing his or her best.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Small minds have big heads. Then again, those who are enraptured in the moment don't need to worry about getting too large of egos. Humility and modesty come easily to the active mind such as yours.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You'll encounter the absurd, futile and transitory. This is the fiber of life these days, and you'll weave it into something beyond what you might have if you weren't faced with such colorful adversity.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). To elevate the mundane is your task of the day. You'll transform ordinary things — a meal, a friendly exchange, an obligatory task — into something that people will remember.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You know that life is about what you give, not what you get. However, it's pretty hard to give anything if you haven't gotten anything. With this in mind, you'll be extra generous.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You have to set limits, because the other people involved won't. What you do cautiously and anxiously today will be done freely and confidently tomorrow.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). The New Age old guard suggests that the subconscious mind knows no irony, has no humor and will deliver precisely and literally what we dwell on. Today's evidence may lead your belief system in a different direction.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). To whatever extent you are able to monitor your thoughts, this is the day to do it. Powerful ideas will float through, some of them detrimental and others quite helpful.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 3). Your works will speak for themselves this month. Enjoy the attention! Because of your choice to listen to people instead of accuse them, you'll wind up knowing more and having a larger reach than your colleagues. January features a new start in work and March cleans the financial slate. Cancer and Libra adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 16, 22, 28 and 11.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: "The Muses must hate me. I've been trying to write a novel for three years. The story keeps changing and it seems like I'll never finish it. How can an Aquarius author-wannabe get inspired to finish a book?"

I just talked to the muses, and they assured me they do not hate you. That said, they would like to be courted.

One thing to remember about the Muses, who are the Greek goddesses of inspiration, is that they are sisters. Courting more than one at a time could only lead to jealousy and complication. Hone in on one. If your novel is a comedy, go for Thalia. If it's a drama, go for Melpomene. (And as long as you're honing in on your muse, you may as well hone in on the genre of your novel. Inventive Aquarians sometimes forget to follow the formula of the genre they are trying to tackle. Sticking to the rules of your genre will help you focus the work.)

Consistency will be key as you court your Muse. Make a writing schedule and keep it. Never stand up your Muse. Don't make demands of her. Give her lots of gifts in the form of reading. She loves when you read to yourself!

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Kendall Jenner bought more than designer labels on her recent trip to France during fashion week. The Scorpio reality star and model threw down her hard-earned cash on books. Born under the homey Cancer moon, water-sign energy flows through her chart suggesting a highly intuitive nature. Venus and Mars in Libra, the sign of partnership, suggest a natural ease in partnership.
