Sad to report that Jerry verDorn, 72, who was Ross on "Guiding Light" and Clint on "One Life to Live," has passed away. He was truly one of the good guys. He was kind and loved to tell a joke if the joke was on him. He is survived by his wife Beth of 42 years and two children. Social media was awash with people who loved and admired him. He died following his third bout with cancer.
Say it isn't so — but it is. Steve Burton (formerly Jason on "General Hospital" and Dylan on "The Young and the Restless") and his wife Sheree have separated after 23 years. She went online and posted that she was pregnant with her fourth child. Burton is not the father. She took down the post. Burton posted it was true. They plan to be cordial as they share three children — two girls and a boy. He said it is true that he is not the biological dad of the fourth child. He also asked their privacy be respected. The duo met when Sheree was an intern at "GH." Burton always has a million projects. Restaurants, traveling shows and business deals. He has often said he was also involved in myriad projects. He has filmed "Beyond Salem" episodes to air July 21-25. No word on who he will play. There has been speculation that he may move over to be a regular on "Days of Our Lives."
Wally Kurth has a personal interest in the "GH" autism storyline. His character's son Leo is autistic. In real life, Kurth has an autistic son. He has said it is rewarding and challenging. He mentions that the love he and his wife give and get from him is amazing
Here are some viewing tips: John Krakauer's amazing book "Under the Banner of Heaven" has been turned into a show on Hulu. It is worth the time and money. It is an inside look at the Mormon religion. Nicolas Cage's new movie "The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent" is stunning. What an actor, what a life and what phenomenal insights. HIs family has been in show business forever. When I interviewed him, he showed amazing insight. "Anytime I say something, it is out there forever. Like the time I talked about eating crickets, which I did, and no one lets me forget it."
The devil, you say? Thankfully, "Days of Our Lives" is wrapping up the "everyone is possessed" storyline. The actors have all been fabulous. But it was time to get rid of it. The yellow eyes have not been fun for the actors in devil mode. It appears they sting. And, yes, they are killing off Abigail this month. Her death will cause heartache for Jack, Jennifer and Chad. Maggie's alcoholic daughter Stefanie is headed to Salem. Her return will cause her mother heartbreak. Also, lots of Julie and Maggie scenes upcoming. Having worked together for over 40 years, they play each other like fine fiddles.
