"General Hospital" has shut down production due to several members of its cast and crew testing positive for COVID-19. It is off air for rest of the week.

It is an end of an era at "General Hospital." Luke (Anthony Geary) was killed off. He died when the cable car he was riding in snapped. Luke had been off screen for six years. Geary, who moved to Amsterdam, was vocal about having no desire to return to "GH." Geary told me years ago Luke was the best and worst thing that happened to his career.

What is up with "GH"? The show keeps dead weight like Peter and Nina around and truncates Liesel and Scott's wonderful romance. Kin Shriner (Scott) says he is headed to Florida and riding his Vespa. He loves that Vespa.

Damn. I wanted Betty White to live to 100. She didn't, but 99 is pretty darn good. Everybody loved her. Well, not everyone. Bea Arthur was not a fan. Why? According to White, she was too chipper. Arthur was not into chipper. White thought, "too bad." For all her chipperness, White could be tough. When it was suggested that White fired her Black piano player, she said, "not happening." White was sweet but could be salty. John McCook, who played Eric in "The Bold and the Beautiful," loved the three years she played Stephanie's horrific mother. "She was always on time, knew her lines, shared so many Hollywood stories, always had a twinkle in her eyes and a swear word on her mouth," he said.

Susan Flannery (Stephanie), not one to give praise, took to Twitter to share how much she enjoyed working with White. White loved her three years being the baddie. Her work on "The Golden Girls" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" was legendary. She had so much fun being bad.

Kirsten Storms has tested positive for COVID. Ditto for Seth Myers and Jimmy Fallon. All say they had the vaccine and booster shots. The shots kept their symptoms to a minimum.

Jack (Peter Bergman) from "The Young and the Restless" was sent out of town due to the actor's health issue. While driving to see family with his wife, Bergman was struck by a stabbing pain in his eye. He suffered a detached retina. The condition can lead to blindness. Rushed to the hospital, Bergman underwent a procedure. It saved his sight, but he had to miss several days on set. He is back taping.

Jack and Jennifer are exiting Salem. Yuck. They have been the heart of the show for decades. The portrayers, Matt Ashford and Missy Reeves, were always on point. Ashford's latest return was glorious. Jack and Jennifer are heading to a New England town to salvage a small-town newspaper. At least they allowed Jack to say goodbye to family and friends. From daughters Gwen and Abby to good pal Xander, he told them how important they are in his life. Mine, too.
