Like it or not, House Speaker John Boehner is the most powerful Republican elected official in the country.

As the organizer of the "Don't Be Yellow: Dump Boehner Now!" campaign, I have a simple goal: to convince House Republicans that he must go for the following reasons:

—He has consistently betrayed Republican voters since he assumed the speaker position. In 2010, GOP voters rose up in anger at Barack Obama's policies and gave Republicans control of the House. What did Boehner do? He immediately surrendered the power of the purse, funding every Obama initiative, including Obamacare. Same thing this year. In November, GOP voters gave Boehner more seats in the House and Republicans control of the Senate. What did Boehner do? Once again, he worked with Democrats to give Obama funding, for Obamacare and his unconstitutional executive action on immigration.

—With Boehner complicit in Obama's overthrow of our constitutional republic, he needs to be ousted — or all those who support him as speaker need to go.

—America is running out of time to preserve itself as a nation under the rule of law and will of the people. Both have been betrayed by Obama and Boehner. There can be no doubt Boehner is beyond political redemption. His actions are calculated. He can be counted on to do what he has always done — undermine the rule of law and the express will of the people.

—Even if Boehner weren't clearly on the wrong side of the major issues of the day, he lacks any vision and the ability to articulate a cohesive and positive message and agenda to the American people — something that will resonate and provide an alternative to Obama's pandering and anti-American provocation.

Does that about explain it?

Can we do better than Boehner? Of course we can. But House Republicans need to start thinking outside the box. They need to stop cowering in fear of Boehner and his leadership cabal. They need to think in terms of historic opportunities.

For instance, did you know that House Republicans are not constrained in their choice of speaker to those in the House of Representatives?

I understand there's a tradition in selecting a speaker from among the ranks of House members. But it's not a legal requirement. In fact, the House could select anyone. If representatives don't find someone among their own ranks qualified for this second-most important constitutional office, they could go outside.

Let me throw some names out there just for the fun of it:

—Dr. Ben Carson.

—Newt Gingrich.

—Ted Cruz.

How would you like to see any one of those men replace Boehner? Do you think any of them could provide some vision and direction for the House? How about others? Do you see what I mean?

We've got to get this message to the House Republicans. That's what this campaign is all about. We need to stir the pot — give these guys something to think about. They need to see, feel and hear our frustration and anger at their appeasement of Obama. If we fail to shake them up and get their attention, it's business as usual, for sure. It's effectively one-party rule. It's effectively the John Boehner Show.

And we can't afford that any longer. The Republican Party cannot afford that. America cannot afford that.

I really believe we have a chance to do that with this campaign. I really believe that it could be our one and only chance.
