Sun and Saturn Conjunct

One reason the human species has changed much more than other animals who have shared the Earth with us for the last few hundred thousand years is that humans are perpetually dissatisfied. It's a survival instinct that has kept us striving, solving problems, trying to improve. Sun conjunct Saturn suggests you embrace dissatisfaction.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Remember those teenage emotions you had that were almost too hard to handle? They're coming back around now, but this time you can process them with relative grace.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Keep moving. If you stay in one place too long or focus too much on one thing you'll fall out of balance and the landing will be painful. Approach your life in a circular motion, making sure you tend to the main areas.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Make your lists. Keep your journal. Do some kind of writing — any kind, really. It will allow you to see and understand more of the project, the relationship, your emotional state, your life ... whatever is on your mind.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Whether or not the wild dreams of the past came to fruition, they look smaller now. The question is: Should you go for it again? Not yet. Keep your eyes open for new inspiration.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). You'll search for meaning even though part of you realizes that there probably isn't any, at least none that you can be certain of; so you may as well make up your own version of what it means.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). The find of the day starts as a mystery, shrouded in fog, gleaming below the surface of the water, or half-covered in sand. It's likely more lovely in its partially obscured form.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). The reason you should avoid being around overly talkative people is that you really need the mental space to let your mind wander today. Quietude is all the inspiration your creative mind needs to solve a problem.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). What's ordinary seems epic and what's epic seems ordinary. Since you can't tell the difference right now, the best thing to do is take notes for later. You'll be referring back to your records of the day.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Yes, your suspicion that there's more to you is absolutely on point. Go forward with your secret plan to mine your personality for dormant talents and scour your soul for hidden potential.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). When you were very young, waiting to grow up seemed to be a forever-long process. These days the future is never as far away as you think. Another reason to shop ahead as much as possible.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Love isn't optional. It's part of your survival, just like breathing. Try to get around whatever is standing in the way of love. Probably all that's needed is a fresh perspective and willingness to reconcile.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Those who are astute will get a window into your inner world. You will reveal more than you want to with the way you hold yourself and the story in your eyes.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 29). You're not doing things for your own self-interest this year; you're thinking about future generations and the world at large. This big-picture perspective allows you to move decisively and quickly. You'll finish a huge project next month and go into 2016 with an inspiring goal, which you'll reach in March. Scorpio and Libra adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 2, 14, 37 and 9.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: Considering the implications of today's solar conjunction of Saturn, it's a relief that this aspect only shows up once this year. We can expect the kind of quietly profound moments that shake and rattle us to the core. This could include extreme self-consciousness — maybe even embarrassment or shame. It's just part of the lesson and a much more universal feeling than it will seem at the instant of impact. Saturn does this. His lessons are often painful. Otherwise we wouldn't learn so fast and it wouldn't stick with us so long. But let's look at the bright side. Since this lineup happens in lucky Sagittarius we're in for the kind of intense experience that will force us to become more of who we want to be. Other options will get closed off. Safety nets will get pulled. There will be no choice but to evolve. In a sense, our limitations, though inconvenient, frustrating and painful will later be credited as the best kind of luck. Obstacles keep us from getting soft, spoiled or greedy. Later we'll be glad that the universe encouraged us in this brave new direction.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: From house bunny to adorable chipmunk, Sagittarius Anna Faris joins Bella Thorne, Kaley Cuoco and many more friends in "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip." Born when the moon was in Pisces, Farris is a soulful artist with a seemingly endless supply of empathy to offer the characters she plays. Saturn in Leo suggests showbiz is a primary source of her life's lessons.
