DEAR STACY: How about an update on Greg Kinnear? What is he up to? - Susanne H., Wilmington, N.C.
DEAR SUSANNE: Come Jan. 13, viewers will see Kinnear play the personal demon-battling criminal defense attorney Keegan Deane in Fox's new comedy, "Rake." On a whole different note, Kinnear stars in the Easter-time release movie "Heaven is Real," adapted from the best-selling book by Pastor Todd Burpo, about his four-year-old son's near-death experience and the amazing things he had to say about the afterlife and people he met there. Thomas Haden Church is also in the cast, and Randall Wallace (who wrote "Braveheart," and directed such films as "Man in the Iron Mask" and "Secretariat") directed.
DEAR STACY: Is it true that there is going to be a sequel to "Now You See Me"? How about some details? It was a well-done movie. — Glen E., Chattanooga, Tenn.
DEAR GLEN: Yes, plans are underway for "Now You See Me 2" to commence production in 2014. "If it's good, everybody will do it," Jesse Eisenberg told Collider, when asked about the cast returning. He also said that Lions Gate is hoping to get the film going as soon as possible, before people's memories of the first magical magician caper feature begin to fade.
DEAR STACY: What happened to Vanity, the sexy singer of the '80s? — G.H., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
DEAR ALDO: Denise Matthews, the evangelist formerly known as Vanity, has been a born-again Christian since 1994. After years of addiction to crack cocaine and winding up hospitalized with kidney failure, she had a conversion experience she says saved her life. She severed her ties to show business and quit the Vanity persona. Her memoir, "Blame it on Vanity," came out in 2006 and is now available only by special order ($50) online.
DEAR STACY: Who is doing the voiceovers now on the Lexus commercials? Is it Alec Baldwin? I liked James Remar of "Dexter" when he did them. — Cam G., Missoula, Mo.
DEAR CAM: No, not Baldwin — it's voice actor Maurice LaMarche.
