DEAR STACY: Kate McKinnon is outstanding as Hillary Clinton on "Saturday Night Live," along with her other work on the show. What else does she have coming up? — Ira L., New Haven, Connecticut

DEAR IRA: Dec. 9 will see the release of "Office Christmas Party," in which Jennifer Aniston plays a CEO who threatens to shut down a branch of the family business run by her hard-partying brother (T.J. Miller). It turns out he can save the day if he successfully entertains a prospective client, which of course he does by throwing the ultimate office Christmas party. McKinnon plays ugly sweater-wearing, bossy Mary, who works for the company. Other members of the cast include Jason Bateman, Olivia Munn and and our own former Beck/Smith Hollywood Exclusive reporter turned comedian/actress, Fortune Feimster.

DEAR STACY: Can you tell me when the "Splash" remake with Channing Tatum as the merman is expected to come out? — Larissa, Portland, OR

DEAR LARISSA: The planned gender-swapping update is still only in the writing stage, so I can't. It does appear to be on a fast track. Jillian Bell is set as the female version of Tom Hanks' character in the original movie. Both original "Splash" producer Brian Grazer and director Ron Howard are on board as producers of the remake, and Hanks recently joked that he wanted to be in on it as well. At the premiere of his "Inferno" movie, Hanks told the Associated Press he was all for the remake: "Why not? That's fine! I figure if they were really going to be bold, I would come back as Allen Bauer, and I would go off with Channing Tatum. That would be a bold movie, and I am suggesting it right now. Put THAT on your AP wire."

DEAR STACY: I heard that James Stacy passed away. What was the cause? Did he wind up going to prison? I remember he got into trouble with the law involving a young girl. — JimQ57

DEAR JIMQ57: Stacy died in September of an allergic reaction to medication. He was 79, and had lived one of the most tumultuous lives of any Hollywood character. The one-time TV heartthrob, remembered for his role in the "Lancer" western series — and his comeback from a motorcycle accident that resulted in the loss of his left arm and leg and killed his companion — hit bottom in 1995. That's when he was sentenced to a six-year term for molesting an 11-year-old girl at his home north of Los Angeles — a sentence hardened by two other incidents of "prowling" young girls by Stacy. He subsequently served time at California's Chino Men's Prison.

DEAR STACY: I would like to know whether there's any truth to a friend's story that Al Roker is related to Lenny Kravitz. I know Lenny's mother was the late Roxie Roker of "The Jeffersons." — JaydenF

DEAR JAYDENF: Kravitz' and Roker's grandfathers were cousins, according to Al.
