Greer Grammer Talks 'Awkward' Future and USC/Comic Gabriel Iglesias Revs Up

Fans of MTV's "Awkward" who've been wondering whether the series will wrap for good at the end of the new season that kicks off April 15, wonder no more. "I know season four is not going to end with our graduation," reveals the show's Greer Grammer. She doesn't know exactly what the MTV series' showrunners have in mind for the teen comedy, but does know she'd like to see it continue.

The poised 22-year-old has no breaks in sight. She's been balancing her series chores with her work as a full-time student at USC. As far as reaction to her stellar extracurricular activities, she tells us, "There are people who are really excited about it, really happy — and some who think I should just be in school."

Greer finds "It's interesting to go back to high school" by way of "Awkward."

"I wasn't a cheerleader in high school. My own school experience was awesome, but it was very different from this," observes the actress, who attended the Idyllwild Arts Academy and completed high school via private study. Now, "It's fun being in normal school, thinking about prom, doing all those things," she says.

Expect her character, Lissa, to come into her own this senior year season.

Greer grew up visiting the sets of her father, Kelsey Grammer, and mom, makeup artist Barrie Buckner. She says she's wanted to act as long as she can remember — or at least since a preschool production of "The Wizard of Oz."

"I was upset that I wasn't cast as Dorothy or Glinda. I thought I should have been Dorothy. "That was my part," she says with a laugh. Sounds like an actress, all right.

THINGS THAT GO 'HA' IN THE NIGHT

Comic on the rise Gabriel Iglesias isn't kidding when he says he has "a lot of life going on, a lot of things happening right now." The funny man known as "Fluffy" has a string of features coming our way — the first being Marlon Wayans' April 18 release "Haunted House 2."

"I had a lot of fun doing that movie. Marlon allowed me to improvise a lot and that added a lot of flavor to the character," he tells us. "I'm playing his next door neighbor, Manuel." Iglesias says that he and Wayans share a similar comedy sensibility, but "He definitely likes to take things over the top. He'll say, 'I want you guys to get as crazy as you can. If it's too much, then we'll bring it down."

Like the first "Haunted House," it's "not really scary — 90 percent laughter and very little fight," according to Iglesias. As for himself, he laughs. "No, I was not terrified at all. I saw the strings and I know what makes things go bump in the night. My biggest fear was of disappointing Marlon."

Iglesias just signed for "Magic Mike 2," and he has the animated "Book of Life" and "El Americano" on the way — plus his July 11 release "The Fluffy Movie." His past two DVD comedy specials ("Hot & Fluffy," and "I'm Not Fat ... I'm Fluffy" have sold more than a million copies. He also has season three of his Comedy Central show, "Gabriel

Iglesias Presents: Stand-Up Revolution" coming this spring.

And there's his packed tour schedule. In fact, Iglesias and his support team travel gig to gig on a tour bus. "I've got my band of misfits that comes with me wherever I go. It's a family. It's a circus out on tour together."

He'll be in Vegas when "Haunted House 2" opens.
