Ask Stacy for Jan. 25-26

DEAR STACY: Haven't seen Anthony Michael Hall in awhile. What is he up to? — Gloria R., Warren, Ohio

DEAR GLORIA: Looks like turnabout is fair play since the actor, who rose to fame as a beleaguered teen in "Sixteen Candles" and "The Breakfast Club," is joining the MTV teen comedy "Awkward" for a story arc, playing a sadistic creative writing teacher named Mr. Hart. No word on air dates as yet.

DEAR STACY: Mariska Hargitay of "Law & Order: SVU" has done well as an actress, but whatever became of Jane Mansfield's other daughter, Jayne Marie Mansfield, who posed for Playboy years ago? — G.M., Huntington, W.Va.

DEAR G.M.: Now 63, Jayne Marie made a rare public appearance last November, when sister Mariska was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Jayne Marie has a son and grandchildren, and according to Mariska, she has done just fine for herself as a money manager.

DEAR STACY: Why do stars sometimes go uncredited in movies, like Meryl Streep in "Stuck on You"? — Charles C., Torrance, Calif.

DEAR CHARLES: Sometimes film stars and their reps decide to decline credit entirely rather than settle for billing they deem unsuitable for their standing. Billing matters are intensely negotiated, and it may be that a star will forego certain billing in order to attain some other deal point.

DEAR STACY: Whatever happened to Missy Gold from "Benson"? — Claire M., Chattanooga, Tenn.

DEAR CLAIRE: The last time Missy, now known as Melissa, appeared on screen was in 1985 as "Katie" Olivia Gatling on "Benson." The former actress, who is the younger sister of "Growing Pains'" Tracey Gold, went on to graduate from Georgetown University and earned a Ph.D. from the California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Gold is currently living in Maine where she works as a psychologist.
