Just this week, I received a letter with very helpful information and a suggestion for how all of you, my dear readers, can participate in a fun project. Are you curious? Read on.

DEAR MARY: I suggest asking your readers to submit a list of the specific tools and/or products they find most useful around their homes — inside and out. I think many of your Everyday Cheapskate readers, like myself, are do-it-yourselfers for many things around their homes. I'm sure there are lots of tools that others find as useful as you find your Shark Navigator vacuum, Sonic Duo Floor and Carpet Scrubber and Nok-Out Odor Eliminator.

I'll go first:

Miller Stain Wood Scratch Fix Pen is a great product that hides scratches on furniture, even antiques. Follow the directions exactly. I use a tissue to apply for the best result. This scratch-fixing pen, which comes in a variety of colors, saved the veneer on my 25-year-old dining room table.

Weldbond Universal Adhesive: This adhesive can be cleaned with water and is non-toxic, nearly odorless and dries clear. I've discovered that it works best if you rub the problem area with something first, such as a nail file. This stuff works well on most plastics, wood, metal, tile, porcelain and fabric — the surfaces we all have around our homes that need to be repaired from time to time. Weldbond cures in just 24 hours.

I have used this adhesive to make my grandson's toy trucks last longer. I apply the glue to the seams between parts of his new toys to reinforce the stress points and make the toys sturdier.

I've also used Weldbond to glue trophies, statuettes, small car parts, knobs and wood frames. It is an excellent glue product. Use small clamps to hold parts together while the glue dries. A 14.2-ounce bottle is only about $9.

Stanley Six-Piece Jewelers Precision Screwdriver Set: I wouldn't want to be without this handy set of small screwdrivers. It's useful for so many things. The set sells for about $6.

If you find this to be an interesting topic, I look forward to learning what other readers have to add. — Ken

DEAR KEN: I think this is a fabulous idea! I invite all of my readers to participate. So that I don't get buried in an avalanche of random messages, please follow these steps to submit your contribution:

—Go to EverydayCheapskate.com.

—Click on "Ask Mary a Question."

—Fill out the simple form and send me your contribution just like Ken sent his.

I'll sift through your responses, assess, eliminate duplicates and compile the responses for all of us to enjoy. This is going to be great fun.
